AI Summary This summary was generated by AI from the bill text. AI can get information wrong.
This resolution does not change any laws itself. Instead, it sets the rules for how the House will debate and vote on three other measures. Two of those measures would block Energy Department rules on energy-saving standards for walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, commercial refrigerators, and related equipment. The third measure is a bill about higher education that would require stronger disclosure of foreign gifts and contracts and limit some ties between colleges and certain foreign entities or countries of concern.
- It allows the House to consider a joint resolution to overturn the Energy Department rule on walk-in coolers and walk-in freezers.
- It also allows consideration of a second joint resolution to overturn the Energy Department rule on commercial refrigerators, freezers, and refrigerator-freezers.
- For both of those disapproval resolutions, the House waives certain procedural objections and limits debate to one hour, with one motion to send the measure back for more work.
- It sets special debate and amendment rules for the higher education bill, including limiting debate to one hour and allowing only certain pre-selected amendments.
