AI Summary This summary was generated by AI from the bill text. AI can get information wrong.

This bill would cut off federal funds to many public and private entities if they allow someone to use a single-sex space, like a restroom, locker room, or changing room, that does not match that person’s biological sex. It applies to government agencies, private organizations, and state, tribal, and local governments. The bill also creates exceptions for emergency medical workers responding to a medical emergency and for law enforcement officers during an active pursuit or active investigation.

  • Federal money could not go to an entity that lets a person use a single-sex facility based on gender identity instead of biological sex.
  • The rule would cover spaces on property owned, leased, controlled, or occupied by the entity.
  • Single-sex facilities include restrooms, locker rooms, and changing rooms.
  • The bill defines biological sex as male or female and uses detailed legal definitions for those terms.

Stop the Invasion of Women’s Spaces Act

This bill bars provision of federal funds to entities (including private entities and state, local, and tribal governments) that permit an individual to access or use single-sex restrooms, locker rooms, or changing rooms on the entity's property other than those corresponding to the individual's biological sex.

This prohibition does not apply to entities that permit such access for (1) emergency medical personnel responding to a medical emergency, or (2) law enforcement officers in active pursuit of a suspect or as part of an active investigation.
